@raidernation15 The one arguement to be made is that he did somewhat lead with? his head. Yes, his hands were technically leading and in front, but the rest of the contact was made mainly with his head. Could have been called spearing or illegal body check… but a flag wasn’t even thrown so whatever. haha

@raidernation15 – read my other posts. It depends IF there was helmet contact, and IF his hands were apart – and IF this player was “head-hunting”. It the defenseman had been laying hits like this throughout the game then the ref can invoke – Unncecessary roughness.

Again – I’m a defenseman and LOVE laying our attackmen? with LEGAL hits. It sounds like you’re pretty new to this game. Presuming you’re a player I suggest you grab a copy of the rules and read it once.

  19. 33Ozweldian says:

@fawakamaha – You’re correct. If he pulled up and no helmet contact was made then good hit. But if you slow it down – just after the hit you can clearly see his hands are apart – ie: cross-check. So it depends on where his? hands were when he made the hit. Defenseless player does NOT strictly apply to airborne players. Not sure where you heard that, but it’s not a rule.

iv only ever played box lacrosse,? i take it no loose ball fouls in field?

  21. raidernation15 says:

@33Ozweldian that hit is perfectly legal, 100% by the book. hands together, hit directly to the opponents chest. in no way was it unnecessary, the kid was picking up the ball and he made a good lacrosse hit to take the ball away. the player wasn’t defenseless, he had possession of the ball and should have kept his head up. just because? a player doesn’t see the hit coming doesn’t mean hes defenseless. hits are part of the game, deal with it. thumbs up for big lacrosse hits!!!

    Ohhh my? god!

  25. slayridez06 says:

that would have been a penalty in our league as the defensive player lowered his head and shoulders for a “take? out” check. But there are many different sets of rules for different leagues and different age groups………. regardless of league or age group, i would hate to see a player get injured
