Four X Four: Community Curators and the Syracuse University Art Collection was an exhibition co-curated by four Syracuse personalities including former SU Lacrosse coach Roy Simmons, artist Jack White, Community Folk Art Center director Kheli Willetts, and journalist Nancy Keefe Rhodes. The exhibition is actually four separate and distinct shows drawn from the University’s extensive collection. Roy Simmons decided to look at the work of legendary sculptor Ivan Mestrovic who had a direct impact on the coach’s appreciation of and work in fine arts…Roy makes collages, assemblages and constructions that are quite beautiful.
